Unlocking Oracle's Cloud Solutions for Sovereignty - Utrecht - May 7th
Unlocking Oracle's Cloud Solutions for Sovereignty - Utrecht - May 7th
Digital Sovereignty in Europe has quickly become a top-of-mind discussion across governments and institutions, reinforced by new threats and global geo-political turmoil. The realization that the dependency the EU has specifically on Cloud Services to provide critical public and commercial services has also drawn additional attention to the European Cloud landscape.
Aspects like foreign governments using operations of companies headquartered outside the EU to obtain uncontrolled access to data of EU (citizens, companies, governments, or institutions), alongside the strengthening of digital warfare, have raised the risk perception of policy makers around cyber security and resiliency.
All this has led to movements to “strengthen EU’s Digital Sovereignty” and to foster a European Cloud ecosystem, which reduces the dependency and exposure to foreign powers.
The Netherlands specifically, has become central in this discussion, after Parliament accepted a motion to favor an "EU Cloud".
Oracle, as a committed partner to the EU Digital Sovereignty agenda, has made its best effort to understand not only the evolving regulatory environment, but also the sentiment of EU policy makers and of the various countries. Oracle differentiates itself by providing a wide choice of deployment models, specifically designed for sovereign demands.
